About Me - Health and Wellness Coaching & Consulting
Hello and welcome! I’m Dr. Simarata Dhillon, a Food Scientist and Harvard-trained Health & Wellness Coach passionate about bridging science and everyday life through personalized health coaching.
Through Lifestyle Medicine, functional nutrition, Applied Neuroscience, Trauma-Informed Stress Response, and Mindset Techniques, I guide professionals in managing fatigue, stress, and chronic health conditions with evidence-based strategies that promote healing and sustainable well-being.
Educational & Professional Background:
Bachelor's in Biological Sciences, Punjabi University, Patiala, India (2005)
Master’s in Biotechnology, Thapar University, Patiala, India (2007)
Master’s in Food Science, University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada (2009)
Ph.D. in Food Science, University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada (2013)
With 20 years of experience across academic and corporate research, I've worked with leading universities and global organizations across technology hubs in Toronto, Chicago, Dallas, and San Francisco.
My expertise spans ingredient technology applications, food product innovation, and product development in good-for-you nutritional foods and fun-for-you snack food categories, clinical research, and consumer insights.
My Personal Struggle
After two decades immersed in research and having personally navigated hormonal imbalances, problematic skin, energy dips, and autoimmune conditions, I was drawn to a more personal, holistic approach to health. I saw many individuals struggling with chronic illnesses, food sensitivities, digestive and skin issues, and low energy, often overwhelmed by conflicting advice.
Training
To bridge the gap between science and practical solutions, I trained as a Health, Lifestyle & Wellness Coach through advanced programs at Harvard Medical School, focusing on science-backed health, nutrition, lifestyle, and behavior-change strategies. I am also an American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) Lifestyle Medicine & Food-as-Medicine Advocate, and I’m currently pursuing board certifications to provide the highest standard of evidence-based support.
